We consider ourselves very fortunate at this time, not only to live where we do but also to have such good support around us. Which keeps us buoyant even on days when we don't feel that way.

For those who live near to The Parlour you will be familiar with the other local businesses that are dotted in and around Whaley Bridge. They have all been affected one way or another. We are delighted but not surprised that many have turned around their way of doing business so rapidly, in some cases, literally overnight.

Here are a few of them. We hope, if you aren't already, that you can support these and all small businesses around you. It is one place where you can really make a difference.

In no particular order....

Buttercup Cakes, a wedding cake business that has had all their plans scuppered and are now turning out the most delicious brownies by post.

Bridge Bakehouse, a local landmark cafe and take out service which is now offering delivery of everything from sausage rolls to semi-skimmed milk. Thanks for the delivery of emergency flour girls.

Casa di Pizza, a fabulous little Italian restaurant that hand makes pasta and creates THE best tiramasu. They are offering take-away pizza's and freshly made Sacotini with Ricotta and Pear with Crema Di Gorgonzola and Hazelnuts last time we checked. Call 01663 734333 or check their Facebook page.

Foster's of Chapel is in the town neighbouring to ours . Jason and his team of merry women and men have converted their greengrocer and florist into Fruit and Veg delivery business. Taking orders everyday for collection and pick up

Our local butchers Edwin Wild's was early off the mark making sure they kept themselves and everyone safe by having a very unique way of you paying through the glass window!

Our local hardware store Drinkwaters has always been a god send and they remain so. The happiest most helpful group of people you're every likely to meet

I also have to mention those local artists that were very much looking forward to Derbyshire Open Arts which has had to be cancelled. I know they would welcome you to take a look at their work. Tracey Coverley of Handmade in Horwich End and Rebecca Clitheroe, great people to know and talented artisted too.

And we couldn't do any of our online business without the Post Office so conveniently situated over the road. Marvellous Horwich End Post Office

We have over the past couple of years been a collection point for Jo Jangles the baker of fantastic sourdough. We miss her but know that her neighbours in the village of Kettleshulme are appreciating her baking prowess. (We are not jealous in any way)

We also miss being the pick up point for Village Greens who have kept us going over the past few week in top quality fruit and veg as well as some of the tastiest fish ever.

And so finally the Thank you's....
Thank you to our lovely suppliers, many of who are small businesses themselves We have to mention Lime Tree Designs who have been such a help to us over the past week or two.

Finally, thank you to all customers that have supported us over the years and who continue to do so. We hope that you are safe and well.

Best of wishes,

May (and Badger the cat)

PS Badger would like to say a special thank you to Fernmoss Pet Supplies for keeping him looking so good x
